I did my studying in the UK but moved abroad for a while to work in science. Science is a global, world wide activity, so you could do it just about anywhere. I loved my time in Canada (and would go back in an instant if I could) but the UK has a reputation for training young scientist well. Sometimes you end up being the only person in the world with a specific skill set and then you move to a lab somewhere int the world that wants your skills and friends of mine are all over the world including Europe, North and South America and Australia, New Zealand. You also meet lots of new people from all over the world who come to the UK too, so for us to work elsewhere is what happens a lot in science. Its certainly one of the best parts of being a scientist
