This is a very philosophical question!

I believe that life is what you make of it. I try to find meaning in my life by caring for others and trying to do something good and purposeful with my life. I try to find happiness in spending time with the people I care about, and get satisfaction out of setting myself new challenges.

Yesterday I did the Race For Life 10k run – I have never done anything like this before and I didn’t get time to do a lot of training and I’m not very fit in the first place! But I did it because I wanted to say thank you to all the people that fundraise for cancer research and fund research like mine, and if it had been easy I guess it wouldn’t have meant as much.

Everyone had to write on a piece of paper the reason that they were doing the run and stick it to their backs. As I was running I read peoples reasons: I race for like for my mum xxx; I race for life to find a cure for everyone; I race for life for gramps xoxo; I race for life for everyone we have loved and lost.

Reading people’s reasons made me think a lot about life and how it can just get taken away from you. And I imagined that if we had to write on our backs “ I live for…” the things that people would write.

I live for my family. I live to find a cure for cancer. I live to have an influence on others and hopefully make people’s lives better. I don’t live for myself, I live for other people and that is my life.
