My first job was when I was 13 and I tutored a kid down the road who was having trouble with ehr schoolwork.
I have never been out of work since then even when I was at uni or at secondary school. My parents made me pay for 1/2 my piano lessons, so I had to work if I wanted to keep at it.

I started my undergraduate degree in 2000 and finished my PhD in 2008, so I have only been working in a full-time permanent academic post for about three years!

I have been working on my research project for almost 2 years now. I’ve been making chemical tools to enable us to study the growth mechanisms of cancer and working towards a diagnostic blood test for cancer to help doctors to diagnose their patients more easily.
