Babies are made when a sperm fertilises and egg, and the egg successfully implants into a women’s womb.
Traditionally this has occurred after sex between a man and a women, but nowadays it can also be done in a test tube a specialised clinics if a couple has problems ‘making a baby’ or if there are health concerns for the unborn child. I have 4 nieces and nephews made by this procedure, called in vitro fertilization (or IVF).
