• Question: How do you get rid of dust mites? their really disgusting!! and how do they live?

      You can’t get rid of dust mites. They are there as part of natures hoovering system. Some people develop allergies to them, so a reduced number of mites helps them and this is done by removing soft furnishing especially carpets and cleaning so the dust doesn’t build up.

      You can use hypoallergenic pillows and duvets, these are made of fibres that dust mites don’t like to live in. Also washing your bedding regularly will kill them off. And not having soft furnishings (couches, carpets) in your house is a good way to avoid them too. Dust mites feed on your dead skin which is why they thrive in your bed!

      The best way to get rid of them is by washing bed linen, curtains and clothes in hot water. However, often they will be all over the house (which is a problem!). There are chemicals that can be used too… but they also can cause problems.
