At school it was Biology and now its just a specialised version of biology known as cell biology

Biology and specifically Immunology. I like immunology because it puts together all different aspects of biology such as biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, microbiology, medical development. And I think that vaccines, which teach the immune system to fight off an infection better than it would do normally, is the most amazing sort of medicine because it is using the body’s own defenses to get the job done, rather than shoving in some chemicals in the form of a pill.

Oooo, I’ve lots of favourites. Astronomy, electricity, atmospheric-physics, mineralogy, logic… mostly physics things, but some maths and geology too.

I like learning about the body and ways we can fight disease. I like learning about how the body works at the molecular level. I find it pretty crazy that we’re made up of all these little molecules and atoms!

At school it was in physics: quantum/particle/atomic physics — I’m still interested in how things work at that level!

Now, it is how you can use mathematics and computational thinking to solve problems in all of the sciences…it’s amazing how new applications of techniques can crop up!
