• Question: Do you ever find it disturbing having to deal with umbilical cords that recently used to have a baby attached to the other end of it?

      I’ve never worked with umbilical cords, but I imagine you just get used to it.

      Not at all. They are cold (because we keep them in the fridge) and they are covered in blood but they get washed and cleaned and look like skin when we process them. That they were attached to a baby at the other end doen’t matter either. We were all attched at the other end at one point!

      And I have two kids so I’ve seen it “live” a couple of times

      Thankfully, I do not have to deal with anything like this in physics!

      Not in computer science, but I imagine after a while you get used to it!

      Remember, some people eat the placenta and umbilical cord after birth…

      I do not work with umbilical cords which I’m very glad of because I think that would freak me out a little bit!
