Dalya Soond answered on 17 Jun 2011:
I like gardening without gloves on so I can feel the dirt and all that natural goodness between my fingers.
‘Getting your hands dirty’ is also slang in labs for doing experiments. And yes, I rather like doing experiments.
Sarah Thomas answered on 17 Jun 2011:
Yes i’m happy to get my hands dirty, gardening or fixing my motorbike! Oil is tricky to get off your skin though!
Tim Millar answered on 17 Jun 2011:
No, I always wear gloves in the lab, in the garden and when messing about with my bike. It just makes it easier to clean up
Tom Crick answered on 17 Jun 2011:
Yes, when I play rugby! But I don’t really need to when I’m working with computers…
Derek McKay-Bukowski answered on 17 Jun 2011:
As a figure of speech (meaning to pitch in and do some physical work), then yes, I do like that.
But in terms of get my hands ACTUALLY dirty, then no. I wear gloves for gardening, working outdoors, or handling any messy or dusty equipment.
