Marie Curie was a Polish–French physicist/chemist famous for her pioneering research on radioactivity.
She won two Nobel Prizes in two different subjects: Physics (1903) and Chemistry (1911); she was the first women to win a Nobel Prize, the only woman to win in two fields, and the only person to win in multiple sciences.
and as a result of her research radiotherapy is still used in the treatment of cancer today. She ultimately gave her life to her research. Because of her long term exposure to radioactive elements she got cancer and died. Her lab books are still too radioactive to be handled today and have to be stored in lead containers.
